A NEW NAME / FACE IN THE DIGITAL IMAGING COMMUNITY

Who is Natalie?

I studied art history and foreign languages in college. After completing an MA in art history, I embarked on a career as an artists’ representative (which I loved, but my pocketbook didn’t!). So I accepted a position at a motion picture laboratory in Hollywood: Consolidated Film Industries, later bought out by Technicolor. For close to a decade I worked with clients that mostly included independent filmmakers from the U.S. and abroad, guiding them through the rather complicated laboratory processes. At this time I also guest-lectured on film post production at USC, the American Film Institute, and the Los Angeles Film School. At the beginning of this year I accepted a position at Cinetech, bringing me back full circle to my first love: art and visual images.

Who/what is Cinetech?

Part of the Ascent Media Group of companies, Cinetech is a motion picture restoration, preservation, and stills imaging facility. The company is known worldwide as a leader in media restoration and preservation. Building on years of experience, in 2003 Cinetech launched its digital stills unit, to date working with an array of museums, university libraries, corporate foundations, and motion picture studios. What impresses me most about Cinetech is the company’s commitment to high quality, as well as the staff’s knowledge and dedication. We endeavor to partner with our clients to ensure a solid long-term relationship, always striving for the best course of action for unique and historically valuable collections.

At Cinetech, my career has entered a new phase, bringing the worlds of art and motion picture laboratory closely together. I watch and marvel how experts in motion picture restoration and preservation apply the same skills and high standards of quality and security that have earned the trust of highly discerning film studios to still images of  artistic and historic value.

I’m really excited about my new venture!
