Project Planning:

Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority requested a full assessment of their current image use and technology. They wished to develop a system which would satisfy the basic needs and purposes of their growing and diverse image collection. Image Integration Intrevieded people representing Public Arts, Design Studio, Media Relations and ITS. From these surveys Image Integration developed target goals, procedures and imaging standards.
Standards:
We begin with workable standard for scanning, storage , file naming and cataloging.
CUREe (Consortium of Universities for Research in EarthQuake Engineering) wished to establish digital image standards for the submission of digital images to their archive. To establish that, Image Integration developed a unique file naming system, image resolution standards aas wellas a catloging procedure and a hardware/software acquistion list and budget.
Procedures
Standards are only as good as their implementation.
The University of New Mexico hired Image integration to develop a unique file naming system for their Bainbridge Bunting Memorial Slide Library. For the unique name to work succesfully, we knew it was also important to establish the best procedure for attaching it to the digital file. Therefore, we requested that their database developer and system manager be part of the process. Thus, we were ableto create naming system which met the librarians¹ criteria and could be added with less human error and effort.
