Plan for the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program
The ease with which electronic information can be created and "published" makes much of what is available today, gone tomorrow. Thus there is an urgent need to preserve this information before it is forever lost .These questions and others are being addressed by a program led by the Library of Congress and including a host of other participants from the public and private sectors. The National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program, or Digital Preservation Program for short, has been generously funded by the U.S. Congress and will seek gifts and in-kind donations to achieve its mission .
